Album Cover Analysis
Lana Del Rey - Born To Die
This album is a very recently album by the new american sensation Lana Del Rey. She is distinguished for her vintage and indie type of look and uses plain colours to have a sort of an effect that would bring the artists start image out. I believe that teh red lips makes her face stand out due to the brightness of it. She is a more of an alternative rock artist. The song below is a song which is featured on her album:

Leo Blue Logo Font
I have created this logo as I believe that its unique and that it relates to the artist himself in a significant way. I have used the Leo star sign to represent the 'Leo' and placed a hyphen between the two names. The font makes it look stylish and I believe it makes it stand out from the rest as it is not too cliche but simple and good.
The red contrasts with the black here which brings the text out and makes it very attention seeking and outstanding to look at. It still looks simple which I like about and it looks very lush and realistic.

This another style I have gone for by using a render of blue in parts of the font, to play around with it and see whether it looks retro and different
Music Analysis Of A Students Work Last Year
This Music Video done last year by a year 13 for their A2 coursework I believe this will be similar to what we intend to achieve in ours. However, I couldn't identify the song and band but nevertheless, you can tell that the song is made by a pop, rock band due to the tempo of the song and the lyrics are about a girl.
What I like about this music video is that the use of shots, code and conventions used. The use of lyrics on a blank piece of paper with the lyrics present on them makes it unique and different from other music videos.
The band used in the video are all in synch with the music and the lead singer who is acted by (Alex Tasselli) a current student in my year shows a good use of body language and did a great job of it.
What I also believe is unique is that settings and locations they used. They used a main hall to record the band peforming which I believe was original but did a great use of it.
The use of all the instruments heard in the song is present in the music video, which I believe is significiant and good to express.
The Actors for Our Music Video
Leo Blue- Fraser Wilson
Fraser or well known as Leo Blue was the actor in which who was the
star of the main production. I believe that Fraser has done well due to origination
in meeting the timing schedules set and did a good acting as a musician for
our music production.

Guitarist & Band member: Conor McGuire
Conor became our guitarist and was filmed
playing in the drama room with a blue jumper and
performed with spot lights on. This made it feel realistic
as if it was a live performance being done on a
stage.
Actor - Hannah Watson
She was the actor in our my music production and acted as
Leo Blues girlfriend who finds out shes being cheated on. She then storms out of the
Leo Blues girlfriend who finds out shes being cheated on. She then storms out of the
house and we get brought back to the character in some bits later on such as ; via Text.
Poster Analysis - The Killers
I have here chosen the 'The Killers' to do my poster analysi on. They are a famous American rock band formed in 2001.
Members ( The Killers):
Brandon Flowers ( Lead Singer)
Dave Keuning
Ronnie Vannucci, Jr.
Mark Stoermer
In the poster we can see the bang all together dressed in a more indie style than a rock costume. This shows the evolution of the genre's and the sterotypes of them. I believe that this is a unique but plain poster. The reasons are the lack of colour presented in the design on the posters and position of the band in the photo.
The use of a greyscale (black and white) contrasts with the band name title seen on the bottom left hand corner. I believe the white font bring out the image of the band in the backgroud.\
The reason I chose this poster is that the band relates to Paolo Nutini's genre and the way the present themselves is similar. Their music videos are also similar but some are more upbeat and different. The use of a vintage clothing their style out is the same.

Leo Blue Music Video Done.
We have finally finsihed our music video for Leo Blue ( Paolo Nutini - Rewind) and I am pretty much pleased with our work we have accomplished. I believe Ishma and Mahida have put in a lot of work, working on editing and costumes whilst me and Joe did the filming and research. I believe that we have worked well as a group and managed to produce a film to the best of our ability. We have conquered through the cold winter times filming in Richmond park and busy period through our January exams to film. Ishma thought of using girls to sing the last bit of the songs infront of a way to show entrapment. Me and Joe filmed some girls and uploaded the footage onto the MACs for editing.
Sexual Objectification in Music Video
Voyeurism is based on Freudian idea that explains the gendered pleasures of cinema, referring to the idea of looking in order to gain sexual pleasure. Neverthless, It has been argued that the male viewers' that gaze at the television screen is geared to the notions of voyeurism in that it is a powerful controlling capture of view at the objectified female on display. In music videos, the female on display has become a staple element, particularly in female commercial pop and modern rap genres.
However, Goodwin argues that the female performers will frequently be represented in this fashion, through a combination of camerawork such as; (eg tilts, close ups and editing), with disjointed body shots underlining a sexualised treatment of the star. Although it’s not just limited to female performers, male performance videos too, the idea of voyeuristic treatment of the female body is often apparent with the use of dancers as adornments flattering the male star ego. fedde le grand - put your hands up
Analysis of Album Art
Album covers are the selling point in order to get an artists music out into the industry. This helps the audience to distinguish genre's of the music they are going to be listening to or buying. It sells the artist and its a way to get their target market audience to pick it up and consider buying it.
The power of Album art is the way in it presents it self, big texts of the name of the artist or album, colourful and appealing images etc. These are some of the techniques used can manipulate the consumer to buy their albums and tracks.
The digipak can also give an insight into what theme the album is going to be about. For example;

Rhianna - LOUD
Rhianna's album 'LOUD' shows a use of the colour red with roses signifying love and romance, this indicates through the digipak that the songs in the album are about love. The use of red makes the album stand out. We can see Rhianna's face used in the cover to show the artists image.
The Script's new album, 'Science and Faith'. This is an alternative digipak. The front cover for this digipak contains a close up image of the lead singer, with a medium close up and medium shot getting further away of the other two members. The design is all in colour, and has a high contrast for both the background and the image. The background presents an outside area, looking like an old beach with land around it from the golden coloured ground they are stood on.
Nevertheless, on the top right is the band's name in large white text, using their iconic font for audience recognition, followed underneath by the album title in smaller, more spaced out white text. This presentation shows that the band are the important feature, suggesting the singer is even more important as he is shown in a closer up shot. The large title font is used combined with their iconic type to give recognition to the audience, and to make it stand out after the image as one of the first things the audience sees. I like this use of large text, placed in an area that does no overlap anything, including the image or background, and can be seen amonst the other colours.
These codes and conventions used are a way for the artist to sell their product and cash in from.
